A German Delegation comprising representatives from the medical/hospital sector, visited India from 28th October to 2nd November 2018.

The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce organized the business programme of the delegation in Delhi and Bengaluru, which comprised visits to healthcare and related institutes.

 

 

A Bibliomed Verlag German delegation, comprising representatives from the medical/hospital sector, visited India from October 28 to November 02, 2018. The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), organized the business programme of the delegation in Delhi and Bengaluru, which comprised visits to healthcare and related institutes.

In Delhi, the group of 25 doctors from Germany visited the following hospitals:

BLK Super Speciality Hospital: The delegates had a meeting with the Director, Dr. Mradul Kaushik, who shared some key insights.

Safdarjung Hospital: Dr. Rajendra Sharma, Director, spoke to the delegates and shared his perspective.

In order to get a better overview of the healthcare sector in India, the delegates also visited:

Directorate General of Healthcare Services: Dr. S. Venkatesh, Director General, Directorate of Healthcare Services, Government of India, addressed the delegates.

In addition, the delegates also got an opportunity to meet and interact with His Excellency Dr. Martin Ney, German Ambassador to India.

On November 01 and 02, 2018, the delegation was in Bengaluru and visited the following hospitals and institutes:

Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital: Dr. B. S. Srinath, Managing Trustee, gave the opening address, followed by a presentation on ‘Low-cost Healthcare and Innovative Approaches’. Delegates also got a brief on Sri Shankara National Centre for Cancer Prevention and Research (SSNCCPR) and its ongoing cancer prevention project, ‘Prevention of Cancer – A longitudinal Interventional Study’.

NIRAMAI (Non-Invasive Risk Assessment with Machine Intelligence) Health Analytix: The Bengaluru-based deep-tech startup, which addresses critical healthcare problems through automated solutions, conduced a session on a new cancer screening software developed by NIRAMAI. Dr. Geeta Manjunath and Nidhi Mathur facilitated the session, explaining the core technology of the solution, which is an artificial intelligence-led diagnostic platform that uses patented thermal image processing and machine learning algorithms, for reliable and accurate breast cancer screening.

Biocon Limited: Javed Sipai, Senior Director, Marketing, facilitated the session on several functions of Biocon, which is India's largest and fully-integrated, innovation-led biopharmaceutical company. It is committed to reduce therapy costs of chronic diseases like autoimmune, diabetes and cancer.

Narayana Health City: The brainchild of Founder & Chairman, Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Narayana Health is the second largest healthcare provider in the country, in terms of operational bed count and is a one-stop healthcare destination that houses several super-speciality and tertiary care facilities.
