Established in 1956, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) – also known as AHK Indien – is part of the global network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs), with over 140 offices in 92 countries. AHKs are key players in promoting German foreign trade and business development on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany.

 

AHK Indien is not only the largest Chamber within the AHK network but also the largest bilateral Chamber of Commerce in India, representing a strong community of nearly 4,000 member companies. 

 

Headquartered in Mumbai, we operate through six additional offices in New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune, and Düsseldorf.

 

About the Role


The Head of Delegations is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of inbound and outbound business delegations for the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. This position involves strategic planning, stakeholder management, and comprehensive project execution.

 

The role is based in Pune, India and reports to the Head of DE International Services.

 

Key responsibilities include

 

A.         Relationship Building and Leadership
 

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including government offices, trade associations, and members of the Chamber
  • Organize business-to-business (B2B) meetings between delegation participants and relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct industry specific market research to identify and assess potential business opportunities and industry / business segments for new delegation initiatives
  • Represent the Chamber as the primary point of contact during business delegation activities
  • Guide and manage the delegation team
     

B.        Project Management
 

  • Develop detailed project proposals with clear outcomes and metrics to measure success as well as for compliance requirements of a funded project
  • Oversee the complete project lifecycle for all delegation initiatives from conception to completion across diverse industry sectors
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure efficient execution
  • Lead the project team to ensure all logistical arrangements including accommodations, transportation, and venue selection
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive post-delegation reports and accounting documentation
     

Educational Qualifications & Professional Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in international business/ trade, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in managing international business delegation programs is a must 
     

Language Requirements

 

  • German language proficiency CEFR C1 and above or a native speaker
  • English language proficiency CEFR C2 or a native speaker
     

Skills & Competencies

 

  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities
  • Proficient in project budgeting
  • Effective leadership ability with sound interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively delegate
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Skilled Migration Internship

This is a full time Internship (immediate joining until 30th November 2025) based in India and reports to the Head of Skilled Migration. 

 

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Assist with tracking and co-ordination of candidates’ application process for the Hand in Hand project
  • Regularly update and maintain candidate assessment files based on project-specific criteria as well as ensure accurate documentation in CRM systems
  • Assist in drafting professional application documents in German, using information provided by candidates
  • Support the coordination and execution of online events and information sessions
     

Education Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
     

Language skills
 

  • English – CEFR C2
  • German – CEFR C1 minimum

Executive – Communications | Mumbai

This position (Executive, Communications) is based in Mumbai, India and reports to the Manager, Communications. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Social Media Management

    - Draft, edit, and proofread engaging content for IGCC’s official social media platforms (LinkedIn and Twitter).

    - Plan and schedule content aligned with the events calendar and overall communications strategy, as outlined by the reporting manager.

    - Collaborate with internal teams to identify content opportunities and ensure timely promotion of events, initiatives, and announcements.
     
  • Website Uploads

    - Handle day-to-day content uploads/ edits.

    - Coordinate proactively with departments to gather content updates and ensure accuracy.
     
  • Analytics & Reporting

    -Provide analytics reports for both social media and website performance, as and when requested.
     
  • Communication & Coordination

    - Support the execution of communication deliverables for events, including liaising with external designers.

    - Maintain effective email communication and organised internal documentation related to content planning, approvals, and workflows.
     
  • Basic Design Support

    - Assist in creating simple visual creatives using relevant design tools.

 

Education & Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or any other relevant field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.

 

Functional Skills
 

  • Command over written and spoken English, with a sharp eye for detail and grammar.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (especially PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and a willingness to learn Ibexa CMS (in-house training will be provided).
  • Basic design skills using Canva or similar tools; knowledge of Photoshop is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, manage timelines, and coordinate across teams with a proactive mindset.
