Executive Business Management Program

At the Indo-German Training Centre

Job Posting Creatives (11).png

Think of your three most capable mid-level managers. Technically strong. Deeply trusted. Probably the people you turn to when something needs to get done.

Now ask: can they read a P&L and act on it? Can they make a pricing decision, challenge a supply chain assumption, or build a business case that holds up in a boardroom? Can they lead a team through change, not just manage it through a project plan?

That gap - between functional excellence and business leadership - is exactly what the Executive Business Management Program at IGTC is built to close.

A Program Built for Real Business Impact

Over 12 months on alternate weekends (for managers working in Mumbai and Pune) or over 16 months – 9 days every quarter (for managers working across India), EBMP reshapes how they think, decide, and lead. It is inspired by the German Dual System of "Learning by Doing": every concept learned in the classroom is applied to a real challenge in the participant's own organisation.

What the programme covers (312 hours · 52 days · 16 modules)

Strategy & Competitive Analysis · Financial & Cost Management · Marketing & Consumer Behaviour · Operations Management · Supply Chain & Logistics · Economics for Managers · International Business & Trade Policy · International Finance · Emerging Leadership · Design Thinking · Quantitative Methods · Strategic Cost & Profitability · Business Law · Corporate Tax · Project Management · Capstone Business Project

What they leave with:

Over 12 months, managers build capability, not just cover content. They learn to:

  • Understand the economic and strategic forces shaping business decisions
  • Read financial information and connect it to managerial action
  • Make informed decisions across marketing, sales, and customers
  • Treat operations and supply chains as strategic levers, not cost centres
  • Lead people and organisations through change
  • Work across functions rather than within functional silos
  • Imbibe strategic thinking - markets, competition, costs, pricing - seen as a whole
  • Apply structured problem-solving to a real business challenge
  • Develop and present a business case that can withstand management scrutiny

Where Learning Meets the Boardroom: The Capstone Project

Every EBMP cohort culminates in a live business plan. Groups of 3 - 4 managers work on a real strategic challenge from their own organisations: a new market to enter, a technology to indigenise, a product to launch, a service to design. They build the full business case - market analysis, P&L projections, DCF and sensitivity analysis - and present it to a panel of senior faculty.  Themes from past cohorts:

Localisation & Indigenisation Market Entry & Expansion New Product & Service Launch
· Indigenising a precision fastening component (cost analysis, supplier qualification, make-vs-buy) · Go-to-market for a specialised mining sector product entering India · Turnaround strategy for an underperforming product business
· Localising an active safety system for commercial vehicles (technology transfer, business case) · Expanding an automotive safety product line to a new vehicle segment · Surface finishing delivered as a pay-per-use service model (industrial SaaS)
· Feasibility study: indigenous EV braking technology · New market venture into the two-wheeler segment · Premium FMCG product launch: brand positioning to distribution
