Green Hydrogen Directory 2026

The Green Hydrogen Directory is an initiative of the International Hydrogen Ramp-up Programme (H2Uppp), implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in collaboration with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC). The initiative is supported by the Indo-German Energy Forum Support Office (IGEF-SO). The first edition of the directory was authored by the Export-Akademie Baden-Württemberg.

The International Hydrogen Ramp-up Programme (H2Uppp) is supporting entrepreneurial engagement in the ramping-up of hydrogen in the Global South and is a funding programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE).

The directory serves as a practical reference for Indian and German stakeholders by showcasing German companies across the green hydrogen value chain that are either active in India or interested in exploring collaboration opportunities in the Indian green hydrogen market.

It aims to:

Enhance visibility of German expertise across the hydrogen value chain
Facilitate cross-border partnerships and business development
Support knowledge exchange and innovation in green hydrogen technologies

Building on the success of the first edition launched in February 2024, the second edition of the Green Hydrogen Directory - German Companies with an interest in the Indian Market, will be unveiled at the IGCC Industry Dialogue on 30 July 2026.

The updated edition features additional company profiles and updated information based on company submissions. As a living resource, the directory will continue to be expanded and refined to reflect the evolving Indo-German green hydrogen ecosystem.

Opportunities for Indo-German Collaboration

Green hydrogen is becoming a cornerstone of the global energy transition and India is one of its most dynamic emerging markets. Enabled by the National Green Hydrogen Mission and a rapidly expanding renewable energy base, India is laying the foundation for a world-leading green hydrogen economy.

With record-low prices emerging from India’s SECI green ammonia tenders, India stands out as one of the world’s top markets for green hydrogen growth and innovation.

At the same time, Germany is positioning itself as a key player in the international hydrogen economy, with a strong focus on innovation, technology exports, green energy carrier imports, and strategic partnerships. German companies now have a unique opportunity to engage with Indian partners, unlock project opportunities, and position themselves in a fast-growing green hydrogen market.

Against this backdrop, the Green Hydrogen Directory serves as a platform to connect German companies with Indian stakeholders, enhance the visibility of German expertise, and facilitate new partnerships across the green hydrogen value chain.
