The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) together with the Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF), jointly organised the German Pavilion at India Energy Storage Week (IESW) 2026, held from 8–10 July 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi.
Bringing together German companies, industry associations, policymakers, and technology experts, the Pavilion showcased innovative energy solutions while creating opportunities for business dialogue, knowledge exchange, and Indo-German collaboration in the clean energy sector. Hosted as part of India Energy Storage Week 2026, the event welcomed more than 10,000 visitors, over 1,000 conference delegates, and 200 exhibitors from more than 10 countries, providing an important platform for international exchange and business collaboration.
The German Pavilion featured the participation of FOGTEC Brandschutz GmbH, Siemens Energy, Phoenix Contact, German Energy Storage Systems Association (BVES), Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI).
Over the course of three days, the Pavilion served as a meeting point for government representatives, industry leaders, technology providers, and business partners, fostering dialogue on clean energy technologies and creating new opportunities for Indo-German cooperation.
The Pavilion was inaugurated through a traditional lamp-lighting and ribbon-cutting ceremony by Mr. Jonas Madsen, Department for Economic and Global Affairs, German Embassy New Delhi, together with representatives from IGEF, IGCC, and the participating German organisations.
The inauguration ceremony was moderated by Ms. Madhuri Negi (IGEF), followed by welcome remarks from Mr. Anirban Kundu (IGEF) and Ms. Shivani Chaturvedi (IGCC). Representatives of the participating German organisations also addressed the audience, sharing insights into their technologies, expertise, and commitment to expanding partnerships in India.
The German Pavilion also served as a platform for knowledge exchange, hosting the launch of a technical paper on "Battery Assembly & Container Testing Safety, Global Best Practices & Way Forward" and a report on "Global Insights on Energy Storage Policies: Best Practices and Lessons Learned" during the exhibition. These launches brought together experts and stakeholders to discuss emerging trends and best practices supporting India's clean energy transition.
The Pavilion was also visited by Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, who interacted with representatives of the participating organisations and explored the technologies showcased at the Pavilion.
Throughout the exhibition, discussions at the German Pavilion highlighted the importance of international collaboration in advancing renewable energy, energy storage, and industrial innovation. The exchanges between German and Indian stakeholders reinforced the Pavilion's role as a catalyst for knowledge sharing, business partnerships, and long-term cooperation in support of the energy transition.
