The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) successfully concluded a comprehensive week-long Delegation on Solar and Energy Storage in New Delhi from 17th to 21st November 2025. Organised under the German Export Initiative Energy, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), the programme enabled structured engagement between German and Indian energy stakeholders through policy dialogue, site visits, and business matchmaking.
The delegation’s highlight was the Technology Symposium on PV Solar & Storage Solutions. The symposium convened stakeholders and industry leaders to reinforce bilateral cooperation.
Inaugural remarks were delivered by:
- Shivani Chaturvedi (Regional Director, IGCC)
- Dr. Mathias Stranzenbach (Senior Policy Officer, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy),
- Gottfried von Gemmingen (Head of Division for Economic Cooperation & Development, German Embassy New Delhi)
- Tobias Winter, Director (Indo-German Energy Forum Support Office (IGEF-SO)
- Muskaan Sethi (Manager International Relations, NSEFI - National Solar Energy Federation of India
- Dr. Jochen Rentsch (Head of Technology Transfer, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft)
The addresses underscored the growing strategic relevance of bilateral collaboration in clean energy.
Two expert panel discussions anchored the day:
- Panel 1: Module Manufacturing Excellence: Indo-German Success Stories, moderated by Mr. Shubhang Parekh (NSEFI), explored pathways for quality enhancement and co-innovation.
- Panel 2: Integrating Agriculture & Solar Power - India’s Agrivoltaic Potential, moderated by Ms. Eva Meschede (IGEF-SO), examined innovative business models and collaborative pilots.
A dedicated technology showcase featured presentations from the delegates, all from leading German institutions and companies, highlighting advanced solutions for the Indian market.
During the visit, delegates engaged with leading industry players to gain insights into India’s solar and clean energy ecosystem. They met with representative from IB Solar and SunMaster to learn about advanced solar manufacturing and agrivoltaic innovations; connected with GPES Solar for impactful presentations; and explored expertise from GH2 Solar, Oriana Power, and NISE on installations, R&D, and testing infrastructure. These interactions underscored India’s capabilities in integrated renewable solutions and opened avenues for future collaboration.
IGCC remains committed to strengthening Indo-German partnerships and supporting the development of a resilient, innovative, and sustainable clean energy ecosystem.
