The project is aimed at skilled professionals in Electro, IT and Gastronomy industry from India who are looking for opportunities to work and live in Germany. For candidates from other industries or academic qualifications please refer to the following initiatives: ProRecognition India and Make it in Germany / Federal Employment Agency.

We only accept candidates with:

  • Their main residence in India
  • A state-recognized vocational qualification in electrical engineering, computers, information technology or hospitality acquired in India such as:
    • Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Electronics and Electrical Engineering,
    • Information and Communication Technology System Maintenance (ATS or CTS)
    • Diploma in Computer Science/Technology/Engineering, Engineering and Information Technology
    • Bachelor of Science in Hospitality & Hotel Administration
    • Diploma Hotel Management & Catering Technology
    • Bachelor of Science in Culinary Science
    • Bachelor of Vocation in Culinary Management
    • Diploma in Food & Beverage Service Catering and Hospitality Assistant (CTS)
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience as for example a technician or software developer

General information about the project

The project is a joint pilot project of the Federal Employment Agency and DIHK Service GmbH, which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

IGCC, together with the Federal Employment Agency, creates the framework conditions in India to implement the project. We are your first point of contact for all your concerns until you reach Germany.

What does the project offer you?

The project offers you the following services free of charge:

  • Language qualification in India up to level B1
  • Support and accompaniment in the recognition process of your professional qualification by ProRecognition (IGCC)
  • Hand-holding through the Recognition procedure
  • Placement in a permanent job position through the Federal Employment Agency
  • Necessary technical qualifications to achieve full equivalence of the professional qualification (if required)
  • Support in finding accommodation and with bureaucratic processes in Germany
  • Support with operational and social integration in Germany

Requirements for the application

Main residence in India

A state-recognized professional qualification in Electronic engineering, computers or information technology acquired in India such as:

  • Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering
  • Information and Communication Technology System Maintenance (ATS)
  • Information and Communication Technology System Maintenance (CTS)
  • Diploma in Computer Technology
  • Diploma in Computer Engineering
  • Advances (Vocational) Diploma in IT Networking & Cloud
  • Diploma in Engineering and Information Technology
  • Diploma in Software Development
  • Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering

At least two years of relevant professional experience as for example a technician or software developer

Motivation to live and work in Germany for the long term

Willingness and commitment to learn German within a short period of time (or have knowledge of the German language)

Fluent (written and spoken) in the English language

Project progress in short

1. Preparation phase in India:

  • Selection process based on professional qualification and CV
  • Online information event
  • Application for recognition of the qualification
  • Start of a German course up to B1
  • Interview with the potential employer
  • Applying for a visa

2. In Germany:

  • Participation in the German course up to B2
  • If the qualification has only been partially recognized: Technical qualifications to achieve full equivalence of the professional qualification
  • Starting employment

Costs incurred through participation in the project

Participants would have to bear the following costs:

  • Cost of living during the German course in India
  • Airfare
  • Travel health insurance
  • You do not have to pay any fees for participating in the project, finding a job or providing support services.

All other costs are covered by the project

  • German language course (A1 to B1)
  • Required language certificates
  • Recognition of the professional qualification
  • Visa and residence permit
  • Required translations
