The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) along with BDO India (knowledge partner) are pleased to invite you to a LIVE session on “Proactive approach by the Government of India to enhance cross-border trade” on Thursday 11th November 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:20 PM.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 on the global economy, the Indian government took several measures to improve the ‘ease of doing business’ in India and smoothen cross-border trade.

Inter-alia India imposed non-tariff barriers or quota restrictions, improved quality standards on imports, mandated strict disclosure norms under FTA – CAROTAR rules. To bring transparency and efficiency, the Indian Customs automated all processes related to import & exports including the interlinking of important stakeholders like shipping lines, port authorities, courier companies etc. Initiatives such as SWIFT, Turant Customs, e-Sanchit, Direct Port Delivery, revised AEO programme, RFID e-seal programme etc. have resulted in reduced time and cost in the clearance of goods.

With the introduction of digitalisation and automation in Customs many companies are evaluating onboarding information technologies for custom-related compliance processes, to monitor the benefits for easy tracking, audits, record keeping etc.

During the session, experts from BDO India will share insights on the cross-border trade landscape, key policy/trade facilitation initiatives taken by the Indian government and inputs on how to maximise benefits from these initiatives.
