Few developments requires attention of Industry in order to enjoy benefit out of the schemes. Also, there are few issues which needs to be addressed and prepared accordingly to mitigate future tax hassles.
On one hand, the Government has introduced MOOWR scheme which allows Indian manufacturers to import raw materials and capital goods (machines) without payment of customs duty and the customs duty shall be payable only when imported goods are converted into finished goods and finally sold. This beneficial scheme could help in cash flow management. On the other hand, the Country of Origin Rules under Customs which provides for import of goods with concessional duty when made from specific nations (such as ASEAN countries, etc.) is made stringent.
