The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) in collaboration with Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) and The Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) will be organizing a virtual knowledge session on "Unpacking Business & Human Rights for SME’s: Perspective and Insights” on Tuesday, 14th December 2021, 15:30-17.00 IST/11.00-12.30 CET to bring the dialogue of responsible business/sustainability/business & human rights to the SMEs; to unpack in practical terms for SMEs what responsible business entails through some good practice examples and approaches, expectations of big businesses today etc.

We would like to highlight best practices and concrete examples of businesses that have adopted the BHR agenda within their supply chains. Specifically, this session will focus on:

  • Sharing of good practices implemented by businesses in identifying and managing human rights issues across their operations and supply chains and its impacts
  • Understanding the stages of SME engagement processes of businesses towards carrying out due diligence - when, how, who
  • At an aggregated level, identifying areas of capacity building / training / networking to enable SMEs to put adoption of the BHR agenda into practice
