The German Entrepreneurship Award for Development is an initiative to recognise companies’ existing commitment and, at the same time, provide impetus for innovative ideas. The awards will be awarded in two categories.
Categories:
- The ‘Business for Development’ category is for projects that have already been implemented or are running successfully. This category honours long-term entrepreneurial commitment in developing or emerging countries that goes beyond the company’s customary business activities and has a measurable local impact.
- The ‘Innovation for Development’ category is designed for companies that want to improve people’s lives in the long term with a new product or service idea. The focus is placed on companies that have developed a solution through to market readiness and would now like to launch or refine it. In 2021, companies encouraged to apply in this category include, but are not limited to, such companies that want to use their idea to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on a developing or emerging-market country.
