“Celebrating Women in Leadership” – an event jointly organised by The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of Women’s Day, 2022 was an occasion to honour the indomitable and resilient spirit of womanhood.
For sustainable development and greater gender equality, it is important to continuously examine the opportunities and constraints to empower women and girls to have a voice and be equal players in decision-making related to business, the environment, and politics.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonia Prashar, Deputy Director-General, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce said, “In present times, unlocking the potential of women is more important than ever. The economic success of women and girls has a ripple effect that leads to an equal future, better nutrition and health, and greater resilience. However, without the inclusion of half of the world’s population, it is unlikely that solutions for a sustainable planet and a gender-equal world tomorrow will be realised”.
Payal Kanwar, Director-General, Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, further added, “International Women’s Day goes beyond one woman, one day, one community, or one nation. It is a celebration of the human rights of all women and girls across the globe. As we look to the future with a renewed sense of hope, vigour, and commitment, we will continue to strive to empower women and girls”.
