14 representatives from German and Indian companies took part in the first batch of the year for the ‘Supply Chain Due Diligence Certification Course’ conducted by IGCC SustainMarkets. The six-week hybrid programme concluded successfully in June.
As part of IGCC’s efforts to support companies in light of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz) and EU regulations, the course focused on responsible business and compliance in the Indo-German context.
Through five informative and interactive sessions, participants were trained on Business and Human Rights, and Corporate Due Diligence in the Supply Chain. The sessions facilitated learning through group discussions and application-based methods in line with German standards.
The fifth session took place at an in-person workshop in Mumbai and was case-study driven. Participants discussed and presented practical measures to implement risk management, preventive and remedial actions, partner cooperation and handling of grievances in the context of different sectors.
As part of the final module of the course, participants completed a practical online examination followed by an assessment of due diligence concepts through individual projects, presentations, and technical discussions.
