Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), develoPPP Classic offers a supporting framework for already established companies that are keen on interlinking their business development with sustainable impact in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Following a public-private-partnership approach, participating companies are offered expertise and financial assistance between 100,000 to EUR 2 million for eligible projects that pursue long-term business objectives & generate measurable sustainable benefits – provided the company meets at least 50% of the total cost itself.
Selected focus topics of develoPPP are:
- Digital transformation, eg through pilots for innovative technologies in fields such as public services or supply chain transparency as well as training for local skilled workers (of disadvantaged groups) to meet labour market requirements
- Transparent sustainable supply chains, including environmentally friendly production and social standards
- Gender equality: Diversity as an opportunity, promote the equal participation of women, while simultaneously harnessing new business opportunities and fostering employment and income opportunities as well as access to (sexual and reproductive) healthcare
Participation requirements
- Privately owned and profit-oriented company registered in the EU, a member state of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) or of a listed OECD-DAC country
- Sufficient personnel capacities with a minimum of eight employees
- Adequate financial resources:
- annual turnover of at least EUR 800,000
- minimum two audited annual financial statements
- a positive net income as well as sufficient equity capital and liquidity to ensure your company’s contribution
- Covering at least half of the project costs
