The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) along with the Indo-German Energy Forum Support Office (IGEF-SO) organised a business roundtable and networking lunch on the topic of ‘Green Hydrogen’ during ELECRAMA on 20th February 2023 at India Exposition Mart Limited, Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR.
IGCC's Deputy Director General, Sonia Prashar, welcomed the roundtable conference by emphasizing the need to explore potential synergies among various stakeholders regarding Indo-German Green Hydrogen projects, especially given the various funding schemes offered by Germany.
A presentation was given by Siddharth Jain, Founder & CEO of MEC Intelligence on the current market potential and statistics of green hydrogen. The industries currently involved in green hydrogen or its derivatives as well as their growth potential were among the important facets he presented. The potential for international trade and current and future plants were also demonstrated. After his presentation, he summarized various private and public players.
Tobias Winter, Director of IGEF-SO, discussed the various German funding schemes available for green hydrogen projects. He laid out the objectives of Germany’s ‘National Hydrogen Strategy’ and provided insights into the country’s green hydrogen trading. Indo-German Green Hydrogen Grants attracted a lot of interest from the private sector. He concluded his presentation by elaborating on the tremendous potential for Indo-German cooperation in the field of green hydrogen.
This was followed by an insightful discussion with the participants, represented by the various private companies from diverse industry sectors.
