Greendustrial Dialogues India 2023 was held at Taj Connemara, Chennai on the 23rd & 24th of January. Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) together with the German Water Partnership (GWP) organized the workshop on strengthening a holistic approach to the treatment of industrial wastewater.
Indian and German companies exchanged information in order to identify sustainable solutions to the often-inadequate treatment of industrial wastewater worldwide. As a consortium, the participating German companies presented the efficiency and flexibility of the German water and wastewater sector over the course of the two-day conference and during the exchange within the target working groups.
Welcome speech was given by Michaela Kuchler, Consul General of Germany in Chennai, and Supriya Sahu, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt. of Tamilnadu, Environment & Climate Change addressed the audience on the legal framework and focus areas on which companies can offer solutions in the area of industrial effluent treatment. Prof. Peter Hartwig, Aqua consult Ingenieur GmbH was the moderator for the two-day conference. Mallikarjuna, Regional Director, IGCC Chennai welcomed all the participants and give an overview of the challenges and market potential the wastewater treatment sector has in India.
Nine German companies namely AERZEN, Aqua Consult Ingenieur GmbH, Enexio water technologies, Fraunhofer, Huber Technology, JUMO, KSB, Tractebel, and Wilo made technical presentations and the event was attended by 70 industry experts, original equipment manufacturers, project integrators, and consultants.
