On 13th Oct 2022, IGCC celebrated the closing ceremony of Training of Master Trainers programme with German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Management & Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council (MEPSC), National Skill Development Council (NSDC), and the participants and trainers of the programme.
The dual certification project, conducted jointly by IGCC, GIZ, MEPSC and NSDC, aimed to enhance the pedagogical quality of in-company training in dual, cooperative, and workplace-based training programmes across different sectors and trades pan India. Between June and September 2022, Master Trainers from 30+ Sector Skill Councils participated in the programme.
In order to ensure the relevancy of the programme, the course was designed and developed by IGCC and MEPSC based on a skill gap analysis and profile skill mapping conducted within the Sector Skills Council and NSDC. Based on this, seven learning areas were identified and designed into learning modules.
In order to enhance participant’s understanding of vocational pedagogy and the organizational processes associated with in-company training, the Ausbildung der Ausbilder (AdA) – International (Basic Version) formed the first module of the training. Based on best practice principles of the German dual vocational education system, this flagship qualification concept of the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry worldwide enables in-company trainers to check the prerequisites for dual training within a business, plan dual training in cooperation with partners, conduct effective on-job training sessions, and ensuring training success.
Afterwards, the participants were qualified further through modules in communication, time management, conflict management, problem solving, training organization and giving and taking feedback – all of which are extremely important aspects for master trainers. For ease of participation, the Training of Master trainers was designed to take place in a virtual space, consisting of live online sessions complemented by self-learning contents made available on the Atingi platform.
The 120-hour program concluded with a dual system of evaluation. Participants appeared for IGCC’s Trainer Aptitude Test as per AdA – International (Basic Version) as well as MEPSC’s Master Trainer exam. Upon the successful completion of the programme, the Master trainers are now expected to pass on their new expertise in their respective sectors, thus generating a multiplying effect. GIZ and MEPSC will follow up on the impact created by this training and will ensure that the project evolves further to deliver maximum benefit from this programme.
IGCC has been promoting vocational pedagogy through many of its training concepts: Ausbildung der Ausbilder (ADA), examiner training, training for on-job instructors, to name a few. Through these training concepts IGCC strives to set up meaningful and impactful high-quality trainings simultaneously partnering with companies and government bodies for the benefit of employees.
