IGCC & IFCCI Celebrate Women in Leadership & Recognise NGOs Supporting Women

Celebrating the spirit of International Women's Day, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) and Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) jointly celebrated Women in Leadership roles and recognised the efforts of NGOs supporting women's causes at Leela Palace, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

Emphasizing the importance of creating an inclusive society and investing in women's empowerment, this year the theme for International Women's Day is "Inspire Inclusion" and the overarching theme is "Invest in women: Accelerate progress."

Speaking on the occasion Sonia Prashar, Deputy Director General, IGCC said, "We are delighted to partner with the IFCCI to celebrate the achievements of women in leadership roles. This event provides a platform to discuss the importance of gender equality in the workplace and recognize the invaluable contribution of women to the economy."

Payal S. Kanwar, Director General of IFCCI, added, "We believe that promoting diversity and inclusion is vital for the growth of our economies. Women are an essential part of this equation, and their contributions should be recognized and celebrated."

“The contribution of innumerable NGOs supporting and uplifting women in the remotest parts of the country was also recognised at the event. They play a major role in reaching out to women which at times, even corporates can’t reach. This women’s day, we wanted to bring them to the limelight and support their efforts”, said Sumati Sud, Director, IGCC.

Among the esteemed guests present were Designer Leena Singh, Actor Sushma Seth, Kathak Exponent Shovana Narayan, Golfer Neelam Pratap Rudy, Dancer Sharon Lowen, Vesna Jacob, Liza Varma, Shivani Wazir Pasrich, Dr. Carsten Klein, Project Director of India, Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom South Asia, Meike Jaeger, Counsellor, Social and Labour Affairs, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Heads of Corporates like BMW, Kracher, etc.
