Dear Members and Friends of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce,
India is currently going through a health crisis of unprecedented dimensions, and at this point, we can only hope that the worst will soon be behind us. The health system has collapsed in many regions and cities, and we need to prepare for similar developments and avoid a possible third wave.
The most critical aspect is the availability of medical oxygen in hospitals. Currently, the production capacity has been increased, and yet there is a shortage of containers for transportation and storage. In addition, oxygen concentrators and ventilators are the need of the hour. But it does not end there. The system is in desperate need of trained medical personnel, treatment capacities, medical equipment and medication – across India. International aid has started, first shipments also arrived from Germany. Wonderful effort by the team of the German Embassy!
Many of you have been affected, and we certainly hope that you and your families are well. Our condolences go to those of you who have lost a loved one.
In this challenging situation, we, the IGCC team, want to do more than sending out condolences. We want to support our member companies, their employees and their families. Our own resources are limited, so we ask you to support us and to support each other. In the past few days, we have received a number of inquiries—some request for support, while some offer to support. We are doing our best to make those match.
To expedite the communication and enable companies to talk to each other directly, we have created a communication platform with the magnificent help and support of the SAP team in Bangalore. This will give you access to the information platform, where you can share your message and get in direct contact with other member companies.
