12/02/2025

As 2025 gets a fast start, we’re thrilled to announce a landmark partnership between three key players focused on strengthening business, innovation and technology-driven growth between two of the world’s most important economies – Germany and India.

The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK India), Asia Berlin Forum e.V, and the German Indian Innovation Corridor (GIIC e.V.) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate and leverage each other’s networks and resources to accelerate digitalisation and innovation.

Key pillars of the partnership include:

  • Connecting innovative start-ups & scale-ups from both markets to cross-border opportunities, including establishing a business growth desk at IGCC
  • Sharing of resources, research and networks to deepen connections and amplify the outcomes of the initiatives planned by each partner
  • Joint marketing through multiple channels online and offline to expand the collective networks and success
  • Collaborating on events and fora to multiply the impact

“This partnership recognizes and builds on the strategic ties established between Germany and India, we are at a moment in history where tremendous innovation and technology is at world play, this collaboration has the potential to drive unprecedented growth outcomes for both nations,” said Upen Barve, executive Board Member of GIIC.

In an increasingly interconnected world, this partnership aims to create a seamless corridor for innovation and sustainable growth between Germany and India.

“Indo-German relations have never been closer and more important,” said Stefan Halusa, Director General of the IGCC. He added, “Considering the geopolitical environment, a collaboration between different players from both sides is the need of the hour, especially in the fields of innovation, engineering and research and development.”

The combination of Germany’s expertise in industrial automation, clean energy, and infrastructure and India’s growing IT ecosystem offers a unique opportunity to jointly develop new digital and AI-enabled solutions and products across a variety of industry sectors.

Timon Rupp Vice Chairman of Asia Berlin Forum e.V. said “Meeting the local entrepreneurs, exploring cutting-edge tech spaces, and uncovering the dynamic Indian market of scale and volume is of utmost importance to the Berlin and Germany-based start-ups to understand and grow to the new opportunities in Global South”

This MoU marks just the beginning of a dynamic collaboration. We look forward to engaging with innovators, businesses, and policymakers to drive meaningful impact.
