A webinar on ‘Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP)’ was organized by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce Kolkata on Wednesday, 3rd February 2021. The key speaker was Sanjeev Nandwani, Strategic Advisor in International Trade.
The webinar introduced and highlighted the new scheme, Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP), of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, which was introduced with effect from 1st January 2021.
RoDTEP scheme allows exporters to claim a refund for certain taxes and duties for products ‘Made in India’ and is valid for all sectors.
Based on this, the session focused on the salient features, principles and procedures, involved and the way forward. It was open to all to understand the implications of the new scheme, especially exporters & importers, business owners and professionals.
The welcome note was given by Nari Kalwani, Chairman Eastern Region, IGCC. An interactive Q/A round followed the presentation by Mr. Nandwani. In this round, essential questions regarding the scheme were raised & discussed. The session was moderated by Sabina Pandey, Regional Director, IGCC Kolkata.
