Winners of SustainAwards 2023 Felicitated at IGCC's 67th Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2023

On 25 September, within the framework of the IGCC's 67th Annual General Meeting, IGCC announced the winners of ‘SustainAwards 2023: Responsible Business for SMEs in India’.

IGCC’s annual ‘SustainAwards’ spotlights visionary companies making a profound impact through their sustainable business practices. This year, the SustainAwards were given to Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises making robust efforts to put in place principles and processes of corporate due diligence and social responsibility.

The Winners were felicitated by Ute Brockmann – Deputy Director General, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and Anupam Chaturvedi, President – Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.

1st Place Winner: Norex Flavours Private Limited

Based in Mandi Dhanaura, Uttar Pradesh, Norex Flavours Private Limited has been a manufacturer of flavours, fragrances, essential oils, aroma chemicals, and mint products since 1994. Mr. Vaibhav Kumar Agrawal, CEO & Managing Director, received the award on behalf of Norex Flavours.

2nd Place Winner: KOB Medical Textiles Private Limited

Founded in 1998, KOB Medical Textiles Private Limited produces elastic medical bandages and fabrics. The award was received by Mr. Raju Cherian, CFO and Whole Time Director of KOB India.

The winners showcase the shift from viewing sustainability as optional to essential in today's global business landscape. Their dedication sets a precedent for businesses in India, emphasizing the need for responsible conduct.

In addition to Trophies and Certificates, this year’s Award Winners received First Access to FairVoice; the Inter-Company Grievance Mechanism. As India’s first industry-led initiative of its kind, FairVoice is an all-in-one grievance management solution for concerns related to business operations.

About SustainAwards 2023

The SustainAwards 2023 applicants went through a rigorous multi-level assessment process conducted by a Subject Matter Expert as well as a Jury Panel comprised of stakeholders from partner organisations, the private sector, and the German Embassy.

The applicants were assessed on stringent criteria including their human rights due diligence strategy, measures to protect human rights and the environment, their grievance procedure, and responsible financing in terms of ESG efforts.

The Jury Panel reached a unanimous decision in the assessment and selection of the winners.
